Senator Shehu Sani Blasts President Buhari for Clearing SGF, Says His Letter is Falsehood

President Muhammadu Buhari has written the Senate re-submitting the name of Ibrahim Magu to be confirmed as the Chairman of the Financial Crimes Commission. He also cleared the acting EFCC chairman of corruption charges leveled against him.

Also, the President asked the Senate to clear Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal of the charges levelled against him.


In the letter read by Senate President Bukola Saraki, Buhari said Magu and Lawal were cleared of corruption in a report by the Attorney General of the Federation. But Senator Shehu Sani has challenged the report clearing Babachir Lawal as he said the content of the letter from Buhari are made up of lies.

"Everything in that letter is a lie." Sani told the Senate.

He added that Babachir Lawal was invited before the committee and his secretary received the letter and acknowledged receipt. Sani further noted that three adverts appeared in three newspaper where Babachir Lawal and others connected were also invited.

He further revealed that he will make available a copy of the invitation letter sent to Babachir Lawal to the clerk of the Senate.
